I'm just curious what the overall view of this movie is. I think it'd be kind of neat to have an ATOT Rates post for movies that come out so that ppl can get an idea of what the general consensus is of this movie. If I had more time and ambition I'd design a website where we could vote and post comments about new movies and games etc... but I don't have the time, or knowledge so .... if someone else wants to :)

Anyway, vote what you rate the movie.

I think it will make one of the better trilogies...the first installment standing alone just made me hungry for more :)

Hmm.. I voted a 3. I think a 3.75 may be closer... but whatever. Everything was well done (especially stunts), but there were terribly corny parts and I felt embarrassed to even watch those parts. I can compare this to other sci-fi movies of today and easily give those a 5... so Spider-Man would have to be lower in comparison. Call me a professional critic. ;) Actually, don't.

Any chance we get get a choice like "Want to see the results" for those of us that have not seen the movie? I would like to see what fellow ATers rate it as, but I would have to vote in order to do so which defeats the purpose of this poll.

**SEMI-SPOILER**

One of the cheesier lines "You mess with Spiderman, you mess with all of us"

Ruined a pretty neat sequence...

Exactly what I was thinking, I as others believe it or not still haven't seen it, and would like to know how those that have seen it rate it.

Oops, and that also reminds me to keep my thoughts on certain details of the movie to myself :)

Good movie but dragged in many areas. The Green Goblin was also a pathetic villain. Other than that, a good above average movie. I'll buy it on DVD most likely.

I give it 3.5 out of 5.

Yes, they definitely needed to spend a better part of the movie developing his character...particularly, his degeneration into madness...

ok, I've added a see current votes option. This is why it'd work better as a webpage because you could see the current resusts then later come back and vote after you've actually seen it.

Also I considered making it with .5 stars but it seemed like a lot of options but maybe for future movies we could do it. Again, a thing to make in a webpage if someone wanted to ;)

4 because "classic" means it will stand the test of time. i dont think you can define a movie a classic until you look back upon it and reflect after an extended period of time. i dont think a few days after release is long enough.

<< He never said it had to be a classic, he said it was a classic must see... >>

then that statement is basing how good the movie appears to be based on hype or expectations because it was already a "classic must see" for most ppl since they havent even seen the movie before it was out, only by seeing the trailer

It's paving the way for new comicbook to big screen adaptations, as Blade and X-Men did. This was way more fun than X-Men though. Now if only Spiderman 2 had Spiderman use the Symbiote costume. OH BABY!!
Either that, or he fights Doctor Octopus. But then again, Carnage and Venom would be so badas$. Choices choices...

<< 4 Stars -- A very well done film >>

The only reason it didn't get a 5 is the ending between MJ and himself. I hated it.

I gave it a 4. It was a really good film that everyone that has a chance to see should see.

There were parts I'd fix...but all in all, it was worth the 7 bucks I spent to get in...

Corny...like that speech that MJ gave to Peter at the end of the movie? She would say 5 words...pause...say 5 more words...pause....she did this for like 5 minutes! It's like she went to the William Shattner School of Acting! That was the worst part :disgust:
