ATOT Poll: How do you pronounce "Super Mario Bros"?

Is it Super MAH-rio Bros with a short vowel sound, or Super MARE-eo Bros with a kind of northern accent?

Which way is correct?

Ok, but "super" and "bros" are fairly standard.

The issue is the name, "Mario".

lol wut

I came in here expecting an argument on whether to say simply "Bros" or to fully state it as "Brothers". Mario is Mario. He says his own fucking name. There's no debate to be had.

No, check your faks. Jimmy Fallon of the late-night television show, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," distinctly says it the second way "MARE-eo." And if I'm not mistaken, other notable people have said it the first way.

So there's a small debate going on. I'm polling ATOT for official stats.

According to Wikipedia, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has almost 1.8 million viewers. So a significant amt of people fall into the 2nd camp.

And the poll is not a failure, it has to gain more input before we reach the final results.

That's not even 2% of the USA, and it's beside the point that a claim doesn't become valid because someone famous makes it.

So if Jimmy Fallon says 2 + 2 = 5, 1.8 million viewers agree?

Super MAH-ree-oh Brothers.

I think the MARE-eo pronunciation is a New York accent. I'm from CT, and I'd look at someone funny if they pronounced it that way.
