ATOT pet peeve thread

Decided to make a random pet peeve thread -

Post your most infuriating pet peeves here!

Mine:
1. The word "like" being used inappropriately
2. Seeing yoga pants being worn by young teenies and overweight women. (yes, I'm aware of how shallow this statement is)
3. People assuming that because I'm biracial (half African-American) I'm only willing to socialize with other African-Americans
4. People saying "Wow, that's exotic" (or something along those lines) when they hear I major in IT Systems / Info. Security.
5. Psychology/Philosophy majors who always seem willing to lecture me in a pretentious manner.
6. "irregardless"
7. People saying "you must be rich" when they're informed that I'm from Boston.
8. Hearing someone speak in Ebonics.
9. People who list "chilling with friends" as their hobby.

Just a few

(...maybe this is just another rant thread of mine)

The seeming elimination of the word "fewer" from the lexicon. Drives me mental hearing and seeing everyone just use the word "less" in places where they should be using "fewer". D:

guys at the gym doing 10 sets of 20 reps of 15 lbs on the one decent row machine, and screaming like they're doing 200 lbs. we're all waiting on you, and no, you don't look cool.

people (lawyers) who use the word 'such' in place of, and often alongside, the word 'the'

Corporate speak. Puts a positive spin on the biggest of disasters. "We have an opportunity for growth.".

People touching my monitor/laptop screen. I really hate having to clean your finger prints off my damn screen.

"news" on UK queen/prince/etc and all that nonsense
ponies/furries/pedobear and all other weirdo memes

Fewer and fewer people are using less.

Yeah it bugs me that people are using that in less places

People who are on the road at the same time as me
People who are too lazy to put their carts in the cart corral or wheel it back to the store
People who talk on their cell phone while at a counter to order/pay/etc

Rude people in (grocery) stores. It pretty much goes without saying that at least once, someone will come out of an aisle into a main pathway without looking to see if anyone is coming. In this case, I'm the one that's approaching, and I have to suddenly stop to avoid running into your rude ass. :| The worst part is that they give me that "what the fuck are you doing in my way" glance, and the complete lack of an "excuse me." What a bunch of uncouth ruffians!

Kind of along the same line, at this one grocery store, I've almost had a few car accidents (none of which were due to something that I did). What makes it interesting is that it's the same thing every time, which also happens to be the same problem that I mentioned above. People come in an entrance, they get to the stop sign at the end, and instead of actually looking both ways, they just fucking go. Sometimes I don't even get a rolling stop out of them... they just drive right past the stop sign. Hell, I use a rolling stop quite often, but I'm not fucking stupid enough to ignore my duty of checking for existing traffic.

Thinking about it... people down here just have downright awful grocery store manners. Things like setting your jumbo "double wide" cart ("Look, ma! It's just like our home!") on one side of the aisle and standing on the other side while you peruse some sort of store brand canned shit.

Excessive use of "utterly", "patently", etc in AT forums, or just excessive use of adverbs and adjectives in general in order to exaggerate and solicit drama.

Time Warner calling in their "free speech" donations to kill a bill that would have seen the government laying down reliable fiber optic internet where I live for an affordable price. Time Warner doesn't even lay cable out to my house. Why the hell should I have to pay $80 a month for horrible satellite internet when Warner isn't even poised to lose business from someone offering a product that isn't price gouged crap?
