Steel, which is about 98% iron, is harder and stronger than titanium.

titanium is less dense, though.

some alpha/beta stabilized titanium alloys can get to pretty high strengths, though i think steel still holds the record for highest strength - some extremely fine wires/whiskers have been found to have strengths of 4GPa (580,000 psi)!


also, some steels really lack iron (high alloy steels are only ~70% iron). and some steels don't even have carbon at all!

Unless I'm mistaken though, Dave's posting rate has been pretty slow the last year. Besides, Dave's old and passe. It's fleabag that is the up and coming star. When he was barred from posting in The Garage, he then started posting Garage posts in OT and got banned for that. I see great ownage in his future.
