I know. Even if the Mariners had made it, they probably wouldn't have won the World Series anyways.

Yay LED blink + relay click from a simple python script.

This is going to go in the garage to automate a bunch of stuff like outdoor Christmas lights and new lights I'll be putting in, and heat. Relays rated for 16 amps at 250v so can run baseboard heat with them too. Weirdly enough the super beefy ones I originally ordered were only rated for 12 amps at 240v. Didn't read the datasheet properly the first time, whoops.

I eventually want to redo all of this with my own custom platform that takes ethernet directly and bypasses the RPI but this is a quick way to go about it.

How long did you have that old pc? That HDD was manufactured in 2001. I'm pretty sure I was on Athlon XP 1600+ (anyone remember the AGOIA stepping?) by the time this was purchased.
I keep machines for a long time. The drive was in a bin. I was looking for a USB 3.0 A to B cable.
 
I still have my first drive somewhere too, and lot of my old machines, although lot of them were parted out over the years so some may have missing parts.

My first drive in my own self built machine was a 60GB I think, I ended up putting it in an external enclosure and it's still in there. Crazy to think that 60GB was big enough back then to make it worthwhile to lug that enclosure around and now you can put many times over that on a flash drive.

Mine was 286 with 40MB HDD. The Turbo XT only had floppy drives. Apple ][ clone was tape deck.

LoL ESP32 has built in wifi. I wouldn't trust a relay for high amperage two pole inductive load like motors. You need Definite Purpose Contactor for that. So your relay doesn't need to be more than 120V 15A. Easier to just get a DPC with 120VAC trigger, and a wifi socket. Use socket to control contactor and the contactor is hardwired to the 240VAC load. That is how I am controlling my pool pump.

Technically the Toronto Maple Leafs has a longer championship final appearance drought. They last did it in in 1967, but Mariners only came to be in 1977.

humm, maybe I should build a smart thermostat with multiple sensors


couple each with a esp32 and it becomes room sensors. Then use HA to control hvac. maybe add a people sensor as well so I can decide if the sensor should be ignored on temp calc.
