Well, I never had to change the parameters when enabling XMP. And I have a r9 5950X as well. Maybe it's because I have an ASUS boardI think I have to set the parameters manually even if the xmp shows as enabled. Been a while since I touched this machine's bios

Yeah, but what are your timings? The latency must be harsh to get that out of those sticks. Are they Samsung B-die?disable xmp, set multiplier to 40, ram voltage to 1.45 and voila, ddr4-4000

I get you. I don't care enough to try to get the max speed out of it. I just have the tightest timings I could get. I value stability over all.I could play with the settings to make it tighter, but I just don't care enough.
