Met my neighbours across the road from my off grid land. Been hearing dogs and even roosters there for past few months when I go, and it was always vacant before. Turns out they just bought this summer as they moved from down south and living there year round now. They always had the dream to move up north off grid and seem like nice people.
I brought up the fact that the road is not plowed, but they said it actually will be now for at least 4 years, and they plan to get their own plow truck. So that's good to know. Once I have a cabin myself I could go year round. Once I do decide to live there year round it's also good to know I have a good neighbour.
Unfortunately for them their truck broke down though, that's actually how I met since I stopped when I saw them on side of road a couple km from the property. So will go back on Sunday to bring them supplies. Towing their truck cost around $500. Ouch. That's about what I would expect it to cost though.. a tow in town is over $100.
Good to know I have nice neighbours though, we can help each other out with stuff.
