Thankfully the wood stove was out by then but it was still putting out lot of residual heat. I feel like I could work for the government with this level of efficiency!

I gave in and shut all the windows and put the AC on before bed last night. Couldn't get the place to cool down with just outside air, was still +20 out.

Contemplating doing another fire today, it's +15 out so not as hot but it's suppose to go up to +24. I just want to get the offgassing done so that when it's cold out I can run it normally with windows closed. I feel my last fires were not burning quite hot/long enough so don't think it fully cured the paint. Seems I'm not getting as good of a draft as I would hope for, but I'm reading that it's normal for the draft to be less strong when it's hot out. I thought it was the other way around, but it's good to know it will work better in winter.

Be sure to get a carbon monoxide detector. Don't want red squirrel to be dead squirrel.

Oh yeah I have like 3. 2 of them are in the basement near enough the wood stove and one upstairs where the bedrooms are. Going to add more smoke detectors as well. I could use one where the wood stove is. The one in the laundry room not that far off did go off the other day when the wood stove was off gassing. That's normal, and will stop once it's broken in.

I setup the outside air intake for the wood stove so that also makes a big difference as far as potentially smoking up the house too, but if the door doesn't latch properly or seal starts to fail or something like that, I definitely want to know.

Seriously though I did have to dress into a gown but they give you a changing room for that. I kinda figured they would do that since some clothes can have metal on them, like jeans zipper, buttons etc.
