Burning the 2nd break-in fire in the wood stove. I really don't need the heat right now but excited to finally have this stove being operational so couldn't help myself.

I probably should have put a bit more wood, not quite reaching the temp I need yet. I think it will hit it but then it will be mostly burnt at that point. I want to try to avoid opening the door mid fire to avoid too much smoke in the house. Once I have this dialed in and know more what I'm doing the goal will be to set a fire and then let it burn completely without opening the door. I eventually want to automate the damper as well so it can keep it burning at optimal temp to prevent creosote.

So did 2 break in fires today, these are basically smaller fires that you let burn out and it helps cure/offgas the paint and break in the metal of the stove. Hot in here now. 😱 The off gasing got pretty bad once I reached temp, so it's a good thing I had windows open and fan blowing outside.

I'm trying to tough it without the AC, since it's suppose to go down tonight anyway. Have all the windows open and still have the fan sucking out. Kinda living dangerously with the server room temp. There's no HVAC in there yet, not even any circulation fans. Finishing up the drywall and hvac in that room is going to be one of my projects this winter.

Living Room: 24.1°C (=)
Hallway: 26.1°C (=)
Server Room: 29.4°C (-)
HVAC Return: 22.8°C (=)
HVAC Supply: 23.2°C (=)
Outside: 21.5°C (=)
Delta Temp: 0.4°C

I gave in and shut all the windows and put the AC on before bed last night. Couldn't get the place to cool down with just outside air, was still +20 out.

Contemplating doing another fire today, it's +15 out so not as hot but it's suppose to go up to +24. I just want to get the offgassing done so that when it's cold out I can run it normally with windows closed. I feel my last fires were not burning quite hot/long enough so don't think it fully cured the paint. Seems I'm not getting as good of a draft as I would hope for, but I'm reading that it's normal for the draft to be less strong when it's hot out. I thought it was the other way around, but it's good to know it will work better in winter.

Burning in the wood stove and running the A/C simultaneously? Congratulations on your honorary American citizenship!
