Decided to trim my beard down to a few mm as I've been letting it grow since Christmas. Looked like a squirrel died in my sink by the time I was done.

Just killed a spider on my monitor lol. That was kind of random.

Turntable of 39 years gave up the ghost last week. I loved this thing. Bad ass turntable. The size of a record jacket. It was programmable. Linear tracking. Low tracking force (1.5g?). You could skip tracks. Play just the song you want. I'm going to miss that thing.

New turntable. Say hello to the Denon DP400. Got it yesterday evening and unboxed it. Put it together tonight. It came with a cartridge. I installed it but didn't bother to adjust the alignment, as I'm getting a better cartridge tomorrow. With some fiddling with the tone controls, I was able to get some decent sound. I keep forgetting how loud they can be.

I can't stop thinking about the kittens I'll be getting in the next few weeks. Can't wait! This week I need to go shopping for cat stuff, I want to get another litter box and a cat tree and scratching post. My old cat was declawed, but I don't plan to do that again.

Got the new cartridge, the Ortofon 2M Blue, today. Took off the original cartridge and installed the new one on to the headshell. Installed that back on to the tonearm. Next, I adjusted the balance, tracking force and anti-skate. Then, I adjusted the alignment with a mirrored alignment tool. Finally, I tested everything again by listening to the album I listened to last night. I was able to compare the differences in the sound from the original cartridge to the 2M Blue. Now, I have a competent setup for my vinyl collection.

Saw a moose today. I always forget how huge those things are lol. It was getting dark so just saw a large brown figure in the distance, at first I thought it was a bear until I saw it was like 3x the size of one and made out the shape better.

I've seen a moose. Wild. My mother said they had them occasionally in the Adirondacks.
