Welp, I just put an offer on a 40 acre property without going to see it. I'm a baller like that.

Close enough to town that it would be realistic to do that drive for even just a weekend, not lake front, but lot of lakes in the area, and overall nice area. I hope it goes through, I think this is the one.

Going to go see it Wednesday.
Wow, you're pulling the pin! Congrats man, hope you get it!

Yeah realized there is no time to "think about it" with these properties, need to be very fast. Hopefully I end up getting it, I'm waiting to see if my offer gets accepted at this point so it's a bit nerve wraking haha.

Offer verbally accepted. :D

Spoke with realtor just now. The owner is a total off grider, no internet, nothing so it's been hard for them to get him to sign anything but basically he offered it, and he just needs to sign to make it official. Things are looking decent.

Going to go see it tomorrow.

Going to pay it off, then save up to start building. Probably do a small cabin first as I do want to get it into a state where I can camp there and act as a backup if I lose my job, but then I'll want to build a big garage with a loft, then a house. So I'm looking at least 10 years if more. Though it's crazy to think I'll be 40 in only 5 years. I should have done this like 10 years ago.

First you stopped cutting your hair. Then you stopped bathing. Then your employer made you work from home. Now, you're out to build a cabin out on the tundra.

Congratulations! You have now become the new unabomber! Have you started writing your manifesto?

Hahaha the realtor needed my driver's license as part of the process and was jokingly saying "it's just to make sure you're not a terrorist". Then I go and send him my driver's license with my picture that looks like a terrorist lol. Had short hair then but a big beard.

My bad. There's no doubt now. I'm surprised they haven't confiscated his aerial drones. Surely, his neighbors have reported him on more than one occasion.

The polar bears loitering near his place are surveillance drones.
