I picked up an Apache radio station this morning. We knew Spanglish was a thing but I now know that Apachlish is also a thing.

Was playing with an AM radio at night and managed to pickup stuff from what I assume was Mexico. It sounded like it might be Spanish but not 100% sure. Ionosphere bounce is an interesting thing.

could be this

Hmmm could be and that makes more sense as I typically pickup stuff in Toronto area. Furthest I can confirm is Boston.

Shortwave is interesting too, I need to play around more with antennas one day to see how far I can pickup. I've only used a basic long wire.

When I was a kid, my father got me a pocket transistor radio with a mono headphone. I thought it was the greatest thing. Only AM though. It was a Panasonic. When I lived in Northern Indiana, I could turn my dial past the low end (analog, not digital) and pickup Radio Moscow. Propaganda! At night I could listen to WBBM in Chicago and WLS in St. Louis. I'm pretty sure WBAP out of Dallas.

I remember building one of those as a kid (far from pocket sized though) and being amazed at the fact that it could pickup radio without any batteries or anything.

You talking about a crystal radio? I know that Radio Shack used to sell those kits.

Ordered fish and chips nef. Poutine style of course. Decided to save 5 bucks and I'll actually go pick it up. Though I don't know if I'm really saving 5 bucks by using the truck. :p

Had some almond chicken for lunch. Picked it up myself. I've been tipping them a little bit anyways. I figure a mom and pop store is struggling for business during the pandemic. I want them to stay in business.
