They're having issues with Avaya licensing for the soft phones for us. Not enough licenses lol. So not sure what will happen.

Looks like the software needs a very specific headset too, not just any one, so those need to be ordered.

Really they should just put a message on the IVR that we currently can't take calls but if there is anything urgent to send an email with call back number and we can just use our personal cells. The only thing that would really be urgent is anything police/ambulance related such as call traces.

There is a highway bridge under reconstruction on a two lane highway. The bridge is fairly long and one lane is gone so rather than have flaggers, the state set up traffic lights at either end of the construction zone to control traffic with the north and south bound traffic taking turns using the now single lane bridge. I was waiting at the light and waiting and waiting. Then a most curious vision was visited upon me. Traffic coming over the bridge moving ever so slowly was lead by the hind end of a black pickup truck carefully backing its way over the bridge with a herd of vehicles on its tail, er, head. Mr. Rocket Surgeon had decided to run the light and head over the bridge when it wasn't his turn and had to back up to get out of the way of the oncoming traffic.

As an introvert I feel I've been preparing my whole life for this moment. Everything pretty much feels status quo for me lol. If I need to work from home that will be the only major change, which I'll actually enjoy.

Oh I see. Still no immediate plans for us to work from home. They're dragging their feet. Got the soft phone installed, but there's no licenses to use it and it's not programmed. My ticket to request VPN access just got closed as duplicate even though it was not. Maybe they still did give access though, will try it after my last shift.

I have a feeling it's not going to happen. By the time they get us all setup it will be over.

Cold and rainy. Which doesnt normally bother me but knowing all the restaurants are closed and most other people are sitting at home, it kinda seems a bit worse.

We're suppose to get another snow storm. I hope it holds off until I'm done my shift. Will save me from having to brush off the truck or open the driveway and I can just get in and go home and sleep.

I'll be off till the 23rd after that. At least I can do a bit of social distancing... which I would be doing anyway.
