5 1/2 days, 2100+ miles, 29 county seats. Just uploaded the pics to my computer. It's going to be a long time to process all of them. I'm tired. Nite.

Guess I was not exaggerating when I said winters don't really end till June these days. Though I think all the snow is gone now, have not been in the bush in a bit. There was still snow last time I was though, maybe a couple weeks ago.

LOL

It was 102F Friday in Terlingua

As a side note I thought the forums were down, was getting a database error. They should probably fix that since the only way to know is to clear cookies or use private browsing.

Nasty, makes our winters feel more bearable lol. Hate intense heat.

We got a new thermostat in the office a while back, it goes lower than last one, it's great. I get chills at night though so I don't tend to go below 20C. That's 68f.

Yeah, but it's a dry heat. It only hit 94 down here, but the dew point hit 70-something.
Even with the breeze and in the shade, you are sweating the instance you go outside.

:)

I'm still rocking my 4790K. I've done other builds, but not my main rig. What did you upgrade to?
Core i3 6100t ... Skylake ... don't laugh.
Wanted Win7 compatibility plus low power, so I made concessions.
Unfortunately 6th generation Core costs more than an 8th generation, in my case, soooo ... not much bang for the buck.

Coming from a Haswell chip, which was low-end in 2014.

Lightning struck in early May putting the pc out of commission, and caught me wholly unprepared to stage a rebuild. Desperate times = desperate measures.

Come to think of it I have not built a system in a while, especially if I don't count my mining rig. My current system is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4150 CPU @ 3.50GHz with 8GB of ram. Gaming machine is an i7 of probably around same generation (it's off now so can't check for sure) with like some oddball amount of ram, 12GB I think. Originally it was 16GB but one ram stick was bad.

I'm kinda due for a new build and kinda have an itch to build two new VM servers so I can setup a proper environment with live migrations and HA etc, but reality is I'm happy with what I got, so not going to spend the money.
