Err how thick is the bracket for the panel? Having bolts that can hold down an elephant is not going to help if the bracket jus shears off.

Add punched zinc steel bar on the attic side and use that to spread load by bolting to it. Beef up the bracket somehow.

Also hardened steel is stronger than stainless steel.

Those square tubes must be available locally no? Not a very exotic thing.

They have odd ball stuff like that in short lengths, but I just got the Unistrut at Nedco. Curious to play around with it since they use it a lot at work for cable trays and stuff so it's rather widely used. Fastenal would probably have all sorts of bolts like the ones I wanted but you have to be a company to buy from them. There's actually lot of specialty stores like that where I know they would probably have something I need but you can only buy if you're a company.

I'm almost tempted to just register a shell company so I can buy from those places. I don't know if that would work though, depends what kind of info they want. If they want an address it probably has to be zoned commercial or industrial.

I technically do have a business though, registered it when I was in high school, but I don't know if it would work, I have not actually operated anything under that name for like at least a decade. I imagine the license would be expired by now.

I kinda do want to register a shell company under a cool name though. :p Red Squirrel Aerospace (RSA). ...and that's how I get sued. lol.

Nope, numbered company can be home based. I have a numbered company where I do my consulting and bill from.

I have purchased from Fastenal as an individual and not a business.

I tried to buy from there the other day (we have one locally) and they told me I could not without a business. Checked the site and they also seem to hint at requiring a business to make an account. I think it's a Canada thing, I see that a lot. I don't know why this do that BS.

Is Canada, more importantly, Ontario that much different than the U.S.? The metric system is a non-issue.
