14C now and it's midnight, I can't see how it will drop to 0, but never know I guess. Sun rise is 5:36am so technically only 5 hours of night left. Kinda looking forward to when it starts to be light out at like 3:30am, it's always surreal to see that. Only like that for a few months though, then it goes back to being dark most of the time.

Bought a roll of 75m BX 14/2. Should be enough to wire the shed. 😛 (more than enough... was just cheaper to get a big roll than a small one). Going to keep it simple, got a big junction box, just going to wire nut everything in it and it will be on a single 120v circuit powered by an inverter. For now I got a 60w solar panel outside. I want to do a more permanent setup but for now I'm just using my camping solar power pack. It sits idle for most of the year may as well use it for something.

Probably do the electrical tomorrow. Couple lights and outlets, basically. Suppose I should put in a ground rod.

Yeah, a good ground is your friend. It doesn't take a direct hit to start breaking things. This usually involves fire which breaks more.

Yeah I'm hoping the inverter has isolated ground. Some inverters do weird things where the ground is not isolated from the neutral or hot, but is not bonded either. Like the voltage potential will be like 70 volts or something. I'll have to check that. I do plan to get a better inverter though. This one is just temporary.

Yeah it is hard to get it dialed in just right. I find it's easier to use live view and then zoom in (digitally) to where I want to focus as it lets me get it dialed right in. This is hard to do with a long lens though because it wants to move a lot while I'm fidling with it. I need to figure out a better way to mount big lenses, since a standard tripod screw mount is too finicky.

This is about as good as I can get with my big lens:

For photos like this, I do this too (did this for astrophotography), but harder to do when I'm walking around and shooting quick pictures.

Guess I gotta learn to be fast
