I have a dentist appointment tomorrow. Always hate going, especially the part where they pick at the teeth for like 5 minutes straight. Like nails on a chalk board. Oddly when I was a kid the actual cleaning part is what I hated the most, now when it gets to that part I'm happy because the picking is done.
Trust me on this. Every night before you go to bed floss with a thin floss (listerine makes a really thin, almost ribbon-like floss material), brush thoroughly and then do a minute warm salt water rinse, gargling and spitting every 10 seconds. My oral health went from bleeding like mad every time I brushed to no blood at all even when I floss with regular floss, just 4 months later. They also don't mess with my mouth like they used to, kind of like how you are describing.

This is what I'm talking about. Doesn't hurt or make flossing difficult like regular flossing. It got me to the point where I can now use regular floss without my mouth looking like a mob hit.

I use floss sticks, I just don't have the dexterity to use the normal string. Especially for the back. No idea how people even do it. One thing I always thought they should make is something like those floss sticks but that can dispense regular floss, and also vibrates. The vibration would make it so it's easier to get it in and out from between each teeth. I should floss more often, but it's just so much work, so I often skip.

The one I pictured is flat like a ribbon and not round like typical floss string. I had some teeth that not even my dentist could floss between without a wedge. The stuff is flat and is referred to as dental tape. It painlessly gets in between tight teeth.
