Off starting tomorrow but suppose to rain all the way till my next set of shifts. Of course. That's always my luck.

Looking forward to below zero temperatures, at least the rain will stop and I can work on it every day that I'm off.
 
Ugh the forecast is worse now, it's literally rain right through my entire time off. Like not even a single day where it won't rain. Originally there was at least a few days that looked promising. What's messed is that it's clear skies right now, I can practically see the big dipper from my bedroom. I hope that maybe this rain system just completely misses us, but I doubt it.
 
Starting to consider how I can go about building some kind of temporary awning that covers the entire work area. It's the only way I'll really get this done. I can probably build some temporary towers using uncut 2x4's that I can later on reuse then hoist a giant plastic tarp/cover. It only needs to be about 15 feet high then it can slope down towards where I'll be cutting lumber. Can maybe use vapour barrier plastic then just tape sections together, maybe even weave them first with some string. Going to have to ponder that tonight and see if it's worth while. Or I can wait till it starts getting below freezing, but I don't know how good it is to work with wood in those temps. Might split, twist etc.

Was thinking that, but still don't want that being drenched continuously. I might end up doing the floor anyway though, but still don't want to expose it to rain. It's easy to tarp just the floor, but it will get more complicated when the walls and trusses are up. I need to get 2 consecutive days without rain so the first day I can assemble everything and sheet then the next day I can shingle and weather proof.

Though really assembly and sheeting is probably going to go relatively fast if I don't run into any issues so if I get up early enough I might be able to shingle that day too. House wrap won't be a big deal to apply either.

When I was a teen, my father had a nice shed built. He had them put a concrete slab in instead of pier and beam. Looks good, squirrel. Thanks for sharing.
 
Yeah considered slab or some piers going down to frost level, but decided to just do floating as it's cheaper and easier. It will settle so I'll have to shim it over time. When the city slows down on their bylaw enforcement hell bender I may possibly move it to the fence where it would be more ideal. All my neighbours have their sheds there, but it's an easement so not actually allowed.
