Yes I am doing Okay, sad that a long time Friend is gone.
The years go by faster and faster the older I get.
If I am lucky this fall I will become 59.

Several of my co-workers did not get to retire, as they passed away too young,
I am thankful that I was able to Retire October 2013, {with a pay cut,} but I am much happier and Grateful for every day.

You talk as if 59 is old. Are you having health issues that caused you to retire that early? Again, sorry about your friend. When I was around 42, I got a call from one of my childhood friends who informed me that a shared friend of ours had passed away from leukemia. It was his 2nd bout with the disease and the chemo stopped his heart. All my thoughts were that I hadn't talked to him in years. We had sleepovers at each others house pre-High School days. It was a big "wow" moment. Anyways, my mother passed away at age 76 a month ago. It still feels like too soon. To me 59 is the prime of your life. Or our you having a crisis with the passing of your friend?
