I've had several over time, was funny as hell the first time the wife tried to use one long ago, trying to move it around on the desk.

She's adapted a bit, have a trackball on the mini keyboard on the HTPC in the master bedroom.

I dont have a laptop, but even using those I need a mouse, I cant stand that pad thing.

I don't care for pads much myself, but that isn't a trackball.

I remember using a HUGE trackball on a 286 for programing CNC machines decades ago, the ball on it was about the size of a baseball off to the side of the keyboard wired. :p

Even had a plotter ATT, with about 6 colors of markers :)

Color Graphics were pretty archaic then.

Even had advanced to an actual RS-232 link, even though we had programs still even on paper tape for a few things, he he.
