Actually I need to design the hvac system for that room too. Eventually I want to seal it off from rest of house, more or less, and there will be a cold aisle supply and hot aisle intake, and depending on indoor/outdoor temp it will be circulated throughout the house or outside. The central AC will just kinda passively pickup the slack so won't bother with direct venting it, as it will not be used much, only like 2-3 months a year.

Right now that room is wide open to the rest of the basement and just passively cools, but the servers also take in a crap ton of dust, spiders, earwigs etc. D: The spider webs on front of servers kinda act as a filter though.

It depends I guess, saw a few years ago people farther North with Bit Coin setups were just heating their houses with some of them during the winter.

I wish I had gotten into bitcoin when it was still viable to use GPUs. I totally would have made a setup that can help heat the house. :D Now even with ASICs it's not viable unless you already own them, but even then the difficulty keeps going up so equipment is only good for a short time period. I looked into it at work with coworkers, we were going to buy some of the big rackmount neptune units, and start with my house then we'd each run one and be part of a pool. But problem with ASICs is most of the companies play games with shipping. You pay all that money and they keep delaying the shipping and by the time you get it, it's not viable anymore.

Almost time to go home nef.

This time I put my cat in a room, so I don't have to worry about getting home to puke everywhere. I think I will have to make that a habit when I'm on night shifts. She got the couch, AGAIN. That couch is pretty much ruined, I don't even want to sit on it anymore because it's so gross.
