Sidewinders have been around since the 50's, yes they are the go to short range missile for a long time now, as far as the US is concerned.

They have just been continuously upgraded of course.

Right but the sidewinder alone is less important than the ability to fire the missile via high-offboresight targeting.

Right now I am just hungry to talk about military or geopolitical shit, especially if it is a laid-back attitude.
