Haven't been to the OutBack in ages.

The wife is meeting some of her girlfriends she hasn't seen in awhile there, and wanted me to get something insisting as she still had an old card for it, so at least I have an Out Back burger incoming for dinner.

Starting to look at my sister-in- laws computer again.

I might rebuild this big HAF into my smaller one and keep it while putting the SSD in, this old thing looks a mess.

It might even be a better case for the environment it's living in, the big huge HAF has never been opened and just sucking dust no one ever cleans it looks.

The thing still even has an old Antec 850 in it, that was modified a bit.

Outback Burgers are still pretty beefy, haven't had one in awhile.

Needs some A-1, I keep that around for fries these days. :p

That looks like fun. What's that electronic device? I want to guess solar charge controller, but I don't think that's what it is.

Speaking of which, solar panels at Canadian Tire are on sale, so I bought a 30w one today. I want to build a portable power pack for camping and such, or just emergency use.

Its a PID controller that heats up a 100w/120V electric flat coil with a thermocouple in it to report the temp. It uses an XLR 5pin connector to the PID controller. You sandwich it between a few pieces of titanium and a titanium joint to fit it onto the pipe, then you dab your concentrated THC wax or oil onto the hot titanium dish.
The electric heater keeps it at the appropriate temp without overshooting, it also keeps the nail at the right temp over long periods of time using very little power. and it keeps me from having to use a butane torch to heat it up like I did before.

pic of a similar coil not attached to a titanium nail

how dare you use XLR for anything other than audio

Its the lock and the large pins. Makes it super simple for DIY and mass production in china as well as locking into the unit for safety.

Just gotta remember not to plug any of my audio equipment into it!

High power speakons can handle pretty big loads.
I've seen XLR used on line level (between amp and speakers) too.
As long as the insulator is sufficient for both the pressure (voltage) and consideration is given for environmental degradation, etc., current limits are followed, it should be OK. I would not pull it out under load though as interrupt rating safe practices are not "factor by design" with this arrangement.

Unfortunately for stoners, a shocking experience - eventually - is likely to follow suit. Eventually. :D

Dammit. Tampa Bay just scored in OT. Montreal has been playing terribly though, I don't think they'll get much further. :/ I'd like to see them win another cup, it's been a while.
