Omg the coverage was horrible though. We lost or local TV station years back, and even radio was sketchy. The online stuff was a joke. The city's site was down half the time. Terrible planing on their part. I don't really keep up too much with local politics so don't know the people that much but the mayor I voted for came in so it should be interesting to see what he does. Our city really needs a shuffle Lot of bullcrap especially on the spending side of things.

I live in Markham, the place where the mayor tried to have the citizen pay for a NHL arena...without a commitment from NHL that they will put a team here...
I am sure your problems are smaller.

Yeah that's pretty bad lol.
We don't really have a single major issue it's mostly a combination of things, such as a sewage treatment plant that has gone millions over budget at the tax payer's expense. Our taxes AND water bill keep going up every year because of it. Terrible expense management in general, terrible roads, etc...
I guess, the typical stuff more or less. The new mayor is really keen on fixing all those things and he had an idea that everyone rejected which was too bad. Instead of making the tax and water go up every year he wanted to raise it once by a larger amount, but that would have been the end of it. Good idea but sadly nobody seemed to vote for it. Maybe as mayor he'll have more pull to do things like that. Long term decision making is always better than short term but most people seem to always be preoccupied with short term.
