I'm not even sure if an SD card could run the OS without some major lag.

UHS-II is capable of 156 or 312 MBps. Plenty fast.

So UFS 2.0 should be set to take over from eMMC in the future, but IOPS performance is still a concern there and it cant match eMMCv5 yet.

Guess it was the Aurora ship that I was piloting.

I had so much trouble I just stopped playing and I did not come back until my demo expired. Using the keyboard was hard to control the craft and the laser guns were so short ranged that the AI had a distinct advantage. I might need a joystick if I want to play this game.

Yes...let's pay more for no benefit because we can... let's just wait until the tech matures and costs come down? No reason to install an OS onto removable memory really anyway especially as costs are prohibitive compared to internal flash.

New tech will obviously cost more but in this case it costs more simply because it's removable, not any better in performance which should be the main concern for the OS drive, no?

They should have two SD slots, one for the OS/data and one for extra data. Ship it with a 16GB SD card and let the user put something bigger if they want! But no instead they can just make different "editions" and charge more.

UHS-2 is plenty fast, UHS-2 is not cheap is what i was saying. Normal SD cards are fairly slow.

UHS-1 is pretty fast as well. It can do 50MB/s write with ECC and there is also UHS104 which is capable of 104MB/s. Again, plenty fast.

I can shoot 1080p on the UHS-1 card I have without problems.
