Which version? 250 Ohms, 80 Ohms, or 32 Ohms? If the 32 Ohm version wasn't so expensive and difficult to find I'd have considered them, I just use headphones on my phone so much I couldn't even drive the 250, or 80 Ohm versions.

I had a pair of Denon AH-D2000s but my brother has had them for a few months and I think he "lost them" (sold them for drugs). So I decided these would do the trick. The Custom one pro's only need 16 Ohms so they work really well on phones and laptops and such. Though I still use my AMP/DAC when at home.

Smoking deal, I jumped on the denon AH-D2000s for $220 new in box. Got these custom one pros for $145.
I have these:

They are more expensive, don't know how they compare though...

They are open air not closed, but they are similar if not slightly better. I prefer closed headphones though.
I like open simply because the only closed phones I have listened to sounded shitty by comparison. What is it that you like about closed?

Deeper bass and a less open "airey" sound. I like the closed almost studio like sound of closed cans.

I have some Sony XB1000's as well, which have awesome bass, but they suck compared the my AKG's for sound quality, though they still sound pretty awesome really.

The XB1000's were never meant for real studio or reference work, they are meant for ridiculous bass so the mids and highs suck by default. Try and find a pair of nicely balanced closed cans, they usually favour the lows but good ones still let the highs and mids through.

Also, where'd you find the XB1000's? Almost impossible to find in the US.
