Maybe I'm using the wrong program & they created it to be used in photoshop?
Had downloaded a template for previous channel formats & it worked stupid simple.

Their downloadable "Channel Art Specs" just drops in at a smaller image resolution, but then comes out broken when stretching it to fit the noted dimensions.
Maybe I shouldn't have deleted older channel background template for better example of what am trying to work with.
