Yes, of course. WC-24 to go with the WF-35s. I wasn't going to buy but then I thought that these speakers were the only ones I could get at that price with high WAF (wife acceptance factor). I'll just need to figure out how and where to mount the center.

Unfortunately, my "paralysis by analysis" may have cost me the WF-35s. I've got the WC-24 on order still but if the vendor I ordered the WF-35s from doesn't some through, I may have to return it.

So here is my situation -- I ordered two WF-35s this morning since I messed around and didn't order from Newegg last night because I thought they may drop the price again this morning (they did not and are now out of stock). The vendor emailed me and said they're out of stock but may get more.

In the meantime, I emailed another vendor and they have them in stock but after my email, the price mysteriously went from $381 each to $470 each. I still also have a WC-24 on order from Newegg. I'm wondering if I should just cancel it or go through with the order and if I can't get the WF-35s (or WF-34s) in 2 or 3 weeks, just return it. Opinions? I'm afraid if I cancel they'll sell out too but on the other hand, do I want to mess with an RMA seeing as how the WF-35s and WF-34s look to be longshots?

It disappoints me that Matthew Polk sold out. The last decent speaker was the SDA-SRS from the 80s and that had serious shortcomings. The tweeters may have sizzled but they could not handle power. As a kid I was always envious of my grandfather's Krell and Apogee ribbon speaker set up. Of course the polk cost a fraction of the cost but around Christmas when the pipe organ was fired up the Ribbons sailed through the reeds where the TL domes shreeked and failed.

8 6.5" drivers may move air coupled with a passive rad (polk called them fluid coupled subwoofers which I suppose is technically correct but is misleading as they are simply passive radiators). When those drivers are belting out vocals or other critical midrange and have to move in and out to produce bass pedal notes you have a serious distortion! The sound is really muddy and this should not happen with a $3000 (per pair) speaker!

Matthew sent a personal letter after analyzing our damaged speakers frowning on loud volumes and said perhaps a different type of speaker would be more suitable for our tastes. Sure we like to crank rock music too but it was not metal that was blowing out these speakers!

Pipe organ music is a hell lot harder on speakers than rock. But Polk sold out long ago.

It was not the woofers that blew out, it was the tweeters. They cannot handle nearly the power they SHOULD.

tweeters tend to burn out faster than woofers....most of the time due to amp clipping.

That's what they tried to say but our amps were nowhere near clipping. These speakers were replaced with a set of VMPS Super Tower III's (kit form) and absolutely SUNG compared to the SDAs. Played super loud and clean. The bass from the VMPS was truly in your chest and I'm talking playing Breathe from Pink Floyd when it just thumps and you hear the wallboards flexing and you feel it in your chest like someone is doing the Heimlich on you! The SDA drivers (woofers) would have clacked on their magnets far before this kind of bass output was revealed. Those kits cost $4000 for the pair including soundkote and upgraded Focal driver options too!
