my new workplace policy of not answering this retarded guy's questions appears to be both ineffective and frustrating (for me).

I figured that I'm not doing him any favors by just giving him the answer to his question when he ends up asking me the same shit every week... so instead, I've tried taking the, "well, what do you think you should do" or "how would you try solving this problem if I wasn't here?" approach.

but it just ends up in a half hour conversation where he gets defensive and I eventually just have to tell him the answer anyways to get on with my day.

bitch really needs to be fired already.

I don't understand why we have 2 people in the "backup architect" position while I'm the only person doing any work in terms of building/managing the backup systems.

we have a design :( it hasn't changed since we created it...

I'd really love to know wtf this guy goes all day.

another coworker has a theory that he's got a second job and he's doing both at the same time. unfortunately, he's based out of a satellite office and the director of our department seems to give him free reign in terms of setting his own hours and working from home whenever he feels like it, so I never know if he's on shift and not working or off.

edit: the second guy was just hired recently... my secret hope is that he's a replacement for guy #1 and my boss is just lying to us in saying that he sees the need for a second architect (and privately apologized to me for not giving me the position)

someone once asked me if we took backups of our backups.

I asked him how many petabyte storage arrays he was going to buy me.

Got DSL here & so far it is a lot shitter than when I lived with mom.

Pages time out on a semi-regular basis.
And why/how is the forums going 404 in Mozilla but not Chrome?
Just trying to tech it makes me wanna sleep damn near immediately.
