it's odd how many work conversations devolve into me talking about the possibility that I get hit by a bus and die.
(but it somehow feels more appropriate than the more likely scenario, that a coworker gets fired without warning and has no opportunity for a clean pass-down of any active issues s/he may be working on)
we're in the middle of musical chairs here. My new supervisor was reviewing my list o' regularly recurring tasks.
She asked who was my back up on them.
I haven't had one in about 5 yrs...
mice power?
Never happen. That's why trackpads were invented. Far superior to any mouse. It's a shame PCs can't do it right.
in my entire history of computing, I don't think I've ever hated a software product as much as I hate Exchange.
not even WindowsME
lulz
trackpoint > trackpad
Blasphemy! Those just can't do it right either. They also have a major weak spot: nails! The Apple trackpad (not to be confused with the PC touchpad) is something Apple got right. Too bad the USB one cannot be hitched to a PC and work (with proper gestures) right! Major bummer.
Mice are OK but have to be tethered down here or they wind up missing or broken. They really weren't designed to be used on a moving ship.![]()
why should nails come into play with touchpoint? I use the meat on my fingertip, not my nail.
You're a guy, you have no nails unless you play guitar.
I don't like them for comfort and not to mention I've never used one that does not go bezerk after using it for a while where the pointer drifts on its own. Used on IBM thinkpads and Dell notebooks with same issue.
touchpads do the same.
Only real POS (read HP Envy) have that issue. Trackpads (Mac) have no issues at all.
The best input device was the Felix, then the trackball (the large one!) right after it. I miss those big trackballs, the big balls the size of a billiards ball! I've always liked big balls come to think of it.
