Are you using an Exchange server?
I find the built in email support on the iphone (with exchange) superior to Android. With the latter you must pay for an Outlook client (touchdown - $20 USD!) for full sync of custom folders and notes. With IOS it's built in. It just seems easier to use in that regard.

Yes, I'm using it with Exchange but I came from Blackberry and their email is still the best IMO even though the rest of their OS sucks.
