Didn't win the Amiga 1000 in the auction last night. There is an Amiga 4000 coming up tonight. If it goes cheap enough, I may jump on it. I'd rather have the Amiga 3000 though.

I was born in the year when Amiga 1000 was launched.. hah!

LOL.

I remember salivating over the Amiga 1000 (I was 14 when it came out). I remember reading about it and then seeing it at the local Commodore dealer. I couldn't convince mom and dad to buy one, but a couple of my good friends got them.

I ended up getting an Amiga 2000 a few years later for my HS graduation present and another friend got an Amiga 500. So between the 4 of us, we almost had all the models covered. The Amiga 2500 was an Amiga 2000 with a CPU accelerator card (first 68020-based, than later, 68030-based) and was too expensive.

Last year, I refurbished my old Amiga 2000 and got a 68030 accelerator and a flickerfixer. I also put a new motherboard in it because there was damage to the existing board and I was too lazy to fix it. One day, I will and can probably build a second Amiga from the ground up.
