They were certainly hinting. My parents know that I have a GF, but not my relatives.. because it is still a taboo to speak openly about relationships if you are not married. I told them I have no plans to get married for at least 3 more years. There is this weird threshold.. in my parents generation a girl should be married before the age of 20, right now it is 25. There is much leeway for men though.. although I think the balance is going to shift due the unsustainable sex ratio we have in our country.

My grandparents on my mothers side were very rich. Unfortunately because of traditional Chinese values most of their money went to their sons when they passed away, very little to the daughters.
