I didn't really realize it as such until the past year or 2.
It's been ongoing for over 10 years or so.

I just know at this point not to put myself in places where I'll be too much out of my element.

e.g.:
Craft beer bars, I know I won't have problem striking up engaging conversations about good beers with complete strangers. Can tend to lead to other topics from there. My anxiety is non-existent.
General party bar or club that targets cheap beer rather than good beer. I more than likely won't even drink. I don't even know where to start a conversation from nothing in this situation.
