My father drives approximately 18000 miles per year. A 2011 Maxima has a rating of 19/26, so I used 23 for the average value. That means 782 gallons per year (20 gallon tank). The price difference for it being premium as opposed to regular becomes $156/year.
I do something like 35k km a year...on premium and a 4000lb landboat...
I don't understand why my father is so adamantly against premium fuel cars, and doesn't even believe them - the computer can adjust to counter pinging, so he thinks it's just fine to run regular in them. My mother thinks premium fuel cars are a bad idea too.
Doesn't faze me. I've been putting premium into my G for a couple months now, and I'm happier with it - it doesn't smell terrible when I get into the throttle real heavy.
not to mention you missing a whole autoshop
My house lacks metal working equipment, lift, engine hoist. All other tools are present.
