They're gone. I hate confrontation like that, so I wanted to check the item myself, and see what it was. It could feasibly have been something that was already broken.

I don't know. We don't really have proof per se, but I suspect the owner of the cleaning service will take our word for it.

Just verified they didn't leave a note about it. They did turn the little thing so the broken side was facing away from the room, as if to conceal it.

I'm going to let my father know when he gets home, he'll look it, agree with me that it isn't repairable, and judging by the design of it, not easily replaceable. Then he'll tell my mother tonight while I'm at work, and she can email the company.

If the company doesn't make a problem of it, i.e. they question the girls and they admit it, no problem, we're all done. If there is a problem, then my mother can tell them I was home the whole time, heard them.

Danced around their language, but I left it clear that I heard and understood every word of the floor washing discussion, which was rude and unprofessional.

I don't really have a problem with it, to be honest, but I want it in there in case this gets moved along.
