Throw out the humidifier that comes with it. Don't buy any activator / humidor prep pack. Buy one of these:

To prep a humidor get 1 shot glass per 10 cigars it holds. Fill them 3/4 of the way with distilled water. Place them in the humidor. Do this for a week or two depending how much patients you have.
