Regardless of the reason(s), some of these guys are going to ridiculous extremes to defend AMD. These guys need to remember that AMD isn't a charity or some great, noble institution. When they had the performance crown, they had expensive CPUs too.

I buy whatever is the best performer at the best price. I'll be honest -- I was really hoping for AMD to take the crown so I could go with BD, but that didn't happen and when the delays kept coming, I realized they were screwed and bought a 2600K.

I still need to find the post where the guy seriously said that AMD was delaying to catch Intel by surprise due to BD's superior performance. That was the most ridiculous post I've ever read.

I don't think anyone wants to take that challenge on, particular in the GPU market. Enthusiasts are such a tiny piece of the market and will likely only get tinier as time goes on. True, the console market needs chips but I doubt that someone with no track record will crack that market.

As far as CPUs go, keep on eye on ARM chips.

Thats a good plan. Start with consoles then come out with a chip and partner with Dell or someone. Get the name out with those machines then release cards to the enthusiast market
