It's because you watched too much TV as a kid. Another one bites the dust. :D

My dad used to kick me out of the house. Apparently I was staying indoors too long.

 National Geographics from the early 60s through early 80s. :D

Spent lots of time reading reference - every encyclopedia volume in many publishing volume A through Z, cover to cover. It started out as a dare thing and I started enjoying it and could not put the books down!

make the audio output from your tv fixed level.

wtf is SD channel? That does not enter my domain.
I'll have to test it out on my tv, the option isn't on/off, it's a 0 and I can move the slider up and down numerically

I'd love to have a spinthariscope from a late 50's era Gilbert chemistry set. The Ra discs on those were super hot - easily clocking 50+ m/rem hour, predominately gamma!

Can't say I'd have much of a use for those. :p

Got a microscope when I was 12.
It had a projection box too so instead of looking at it though the eyepiece you snap on a projection screen and it becomes rear projection microscope.

I think I still have it. Also my 16x50 binoculars from when I was 10.
