Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 L USM Lens
vs
Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 Lens

is similar to:

ariel atom
vs
mazda miata

Well, uh, not a great comparison, considering that would imply that the expensive lens, while a great performer, i.e. really good picture quality, has exposed construction. :p

Or, to my mind, you can probably save some weight (and therefore handling, balance, braking, et cetera) with a V6 TT or SC.

I'm still not sure it's worth the quadruple price tag, but USM is a nice feature.

Yeah no USM shitty bokeh and crappy optics.

One thing that is nice about L glass is amazing optics and fast focus. Most of the time they also have a metal body that is weather sealed.

The 5D's 35mm full-frame sensor is larger than the RED ONE's sensor, Super 35 film. It is approximately the size of VistaVision. This means shallower native depth-of-field than anything on the market, except for the Phantom 65.
