I was hoping for an update. Finished one side yet?

Nearly. The internal assembly of the driver's side capsule has about 30-60 minutes left. Then it'll be left as finished while the passenger's capsule gets done, then they'll both be sealed at the same time.

Here, alfa. The album for all worklog pictures so far.

When the entire thing gets finished, I'll put up a ton more pictures and details. For now, I'm exhausted, I have work tomorrow, and then back to the headlights. My best hope now is to get this all buttoned up Monday night, at which point, I'm going to spend half the night driving around. :awe:

How long does that glue take to set?

The lens sealing glue? Take about 5 minutes to stick the glue into the crevice, 20 minutes in the oven to melt it all together, and maybe 10 minutes to cool down. Then take it down to the garage, and by the time it's bolted in place, it's going to be stone cold.

Found the missing cut step, it looks better now.

Also, I think I'm losing the line at right, so I might need to ask HIDP.

My cutoff is full rainbow, I'd rather a pure blue/purple, but oh well.

Do need to see what's going on with the right cutoff, it seems to be bowing.

I found out the flash to pass actually has, all along, been firing the Xenon and the halogens. That's not good for xenon bulbs, but I'm not going to try puzzling out the wiring and modifying it. I'll just live with it, and on the plus side, it means by flash to pass is going to be damn hard to ignore.

High beam up is quiet, the solenoid doesn't make any noise then. Dropping it makes a loud clunk when the the shutter drops. Oh well, not an issue.

A local utility company was contemplating putting up a website to show what part of their service area is without power. I then asked them how the people affected would check that since they have no power

UPS/mobile phone tethering?

Most utilities have such info on their pages already. That utility sounds behind the times.

If I don't have power the first thing I will do is pick up the phone and call utility repair line, not check the internet.

I probably will never give up my landline

Also this is Canada, our utilities is definitely behind the times. They do post the outage info, they were thinking of tying it to the actual data feed. I told them stop wasting money and just have more people fixing the problem :whiste:

ps this was not my local utilities, smaller town one
