To be truthful, Google wants me to upgrade my Google One plan. I don't even like having it in the first place. But like a couple of months ago they start backing up the pictures and videos inside my texts. Suddenly, my data storage seems to go up 1 GB every few days. So, when I finally get to 98% full of 100 GB that they allow you for the basic plan, I search for what is causing the problem. I find that Google is now backing up the pictures and videos that I send along with my texts. 45GB! Eff that. The thing is they don't give you an easy way to delete this. You can't just go to your messenger app and press a button and delete all your texts. You can't choose to not back up your SMS/MMS. It's all or nothing. And Google burries the ability to turn off these settings. In fact, I Google how to turn this stuff off. I'm in the middle of the process to do exactly what the tutorials tell me to do when Google changes the software in real time and removes options that I had to turn some of this stuff off. This is so Orwellian. Fuck Google. All because they want me to upgrade their plan. We so need to vote in different politicians who can regulate these big tech corporations and AI.
