we've got all nice smooth asphalt roads now. What a diff. My street is all gravel and asphalt.

On those types of roads, the asphalt is looking at the tires like, 'go back where you came from - we don't want you here'

The tires look at each other like - WTF? BTW, where DID we come from? Japan I think. Hmm, sounds like a nice town.

"Slightly rougher" says to me "hey kid, gimme the big wheel"

1100 in the great white north? Oh wait, those are [wispering] canadian loonies.

Eh, 1.37 to one USD. That's not horrible.

Yeah houses are pretty crazy here these days and so is rent. There's a house very similar to mine that's for sale right now for 300k. Been inside it and everything as I was helping with the cleanup. Family friend that past away and they don't really have family here. I paid 165k for mine 15 years ago. The one for sale now is in a very similar state mine was in. Mostly original stuff from the 70's with minor updates only.

Just glad I got mine when I did. I feel bad for anyone in their 20's trying to start life now. Houses are not affordable unless you want to be in the 'hood. Even then.

Zipping thru commercials and this one image flashes. What sticks out is picture, I think it was pizza, with one sliced jalapeno pepper that I noticed for some reason. It had one eye poked out and a big row of seeds for teeth and I thought [in raspy, pervy voice with heavy breathing] hey little girl. wanna eat me?

I pulled up the calculator and 1100 CAD is 802 USD. Peeps around here would kill for a one bedroom at that price in a f'ing yurt.

You really need to move to the US. I know, I'm a homebody myself. But with climate change, there's nowhere else I'd want to move to. Midwest - tornados. South - bugs, heat and the occasional tornado. West - earthquakes. I've never been any sort of serious quake although we do get the babies from time to time from all of the fracking. North - f' snow and ice and wind chills. Brrr.

Remember, we also get paid in CAD. So there is no conversion, what you see, is what we pay. I'll stick to here, vs all the disasters that happen in the states though.

Although this area is still relatively cheap compared to places like Toronto where a regular house is over a million now days. I don't really get the appeal of living there. As much as things are getting bad here as far as crime, costs of living etc, it's not any better there. At least here land/home ownership is still within reach.
