Just gave in and turned the heat on. Just need like half an hour of it to get the edge off a little.

I'm off now for a bit so plan to finish the wood stove chimney among other projects, so at least after that I'll be able to use the wood stove instead which will be free.

Apparently we have raccoons here but I have never seen one myself. I sometimes feed the squirrels and chipmunks but that's the extent of it. There are people who feed bears out of their hand but that's a really bad idea.

Ahhhh, a place with no raccoons.

You know why they're so bad . . . raccoon sex dungeons

The heat on... I'm in cranking the a/c mode. 90F for a high today. We had major storms roll through yesterday so the humidity is fairly high.

HVAC tech coming tomorrow to fix our A/C. I ain't cutting the mustard. It's old for a mini-split, so if it's screwed, we'll get a new system.

you could try washing the evaporator rad
Not sure how to do that without losing all the 'freon'. (units on mounted on the walls). Really wish my house had central AC. I'll clean all the filters for giggles today - but I already took them off and that didn't affect temps much (just airflow).

I got Bourdain's covo with Obama in Hanoi playing in the background and it pisses me off that Bourdain is gone and US has taking a giant step back from Obama era.

how does that even happen lol. Now we are being told to move to mini split heat pumps since it is more efficient...

Yeah, why allow consumers fix anything. At least, in this one category, the units have gotten much better compared to mine. The new R290 units ,apparently, are the bomb.

It's all mini split heat pump in Japan. I think they know what they are doing re energy consumption.

Had to use the AC a few weeks ago, but then we got rain. Rain always causes the temp to drop for a couple weeks and it takes a long time for it to recover. Kind of annoying really. If my house was better insulated I probably wouldn't even need AC, since we rarely get more than a few days in a row where it's hot enough to need it.
