Cats are home! Letting them acclimate to environment. Black one seems to be cuddly already but still a bit skidish when I'm walking around. Red one is keeping more quiet, I also wonder if he might be sick. Will need to check into that tomorrow, maybe even bring him to shelter to check. They will cover any medical attention for a bit.

Congrats on acquiring two new bosses.

Random pics of the new cats. Magnus (black one) seems to be right at home already, always wanting cuddles. Melvin (orange one) is a bit more timid but he did hang out with me for a bit. I think he's sick too, with a cold/flu, waiting for call from shelter as they'll talk to their vet about whether or not I should give antibiotics. They have an upper respiratory outbreak at shelter right now so they figure it's that.

We bought a new toy for the cats, a fabric ball with some feathers stuck to it. One of the cats was playing with it when my wife put out new cat food. When the cat who was playing with the toy went to eat, one of the other cats ran over and puked on the new toy. The first cat watched in disbelief and growing rage. I intervened before anyone lost an eye.

Got some antibiotics for both of them so hopefully it starts to show signs of clearing up by tomorrow.

They both seem to be playing more now too. Overall they seem to be adjusting pretty fast. For now I'm trying to get them used to staying in the spare room as when I start working again I want to keep them in there at least until I feel comfortable leaving them throughout the house.

I've really hated the GPU market for the past few years. First mining, not stupidly high prices from inflation and whatnot (greed?). RX 7900 XT is a really good card, but the drivers are meh (problem with an AMD GPU on an AMD CPU/Motherboard - WTH?!). Now I'm noticing that's it's pretty easy to hit over 8GB on my RTX 407TI (12GB) - plan on buying an Ultra Wide curved monitor in a couple of years - that it'll make it worse, plus newer game will be more demanding. I am annoyed. Started looking for used 3090TIs - they are selling, generally, for $1K, which would make tons of sense - which really $200 less than what they should cost new - relative to their performance. Ugh. /rant

The cats are being crazy making lot of racket. Playing together with toys, and sometimes play fighting. Going to start a set of 12h day shifts soon so trying to get them a bit used to being away from me. Gave them some attention this morning and letting them be now. They come see me once in a while and then go back to play.

Tomorrow I work from home so that will help too.

Still keeping them in the spare room at night, and probably during the day too though. Thankfully they don't seem to mind it. They have everything they need in there. I do want to make it better by adding a ledge or something so they can look outside. There's a bed in there that I want to get rid of as it takes up lot of space. I wanted to move my office in there but think it will be a while before I do that at this point, I would have had to do it before I get cats. It's a big project to move all that though. I installed the network jacks though so at least that's one thing done.
