I should probably start looking at insurance. I technically could get away without it since it will used only on my property but I will for sure want to take it for a ride outside the property given I have no roads yet.

I have a few options near me. But I don't drink. Only time I go get booze is if I am going to a party. And that hasn't been happening.

Yeah. You got to have friends.

Well, it looks like I spent my entire evening setting up the new UPS. It's done by now, including disposing of the old one. But while I had everything pulled out... I saw how nasty it was and broke out the vacuum cleaner. Pretty nasty behind the desk. I'm wondering if some drinks had been spilled (somehow) behind the desk. Whatever the case, it was gross. Cleaned off all the other cords and plugs. Nasty after years of neglect. Outside of dusting off the top, I usually leave them alone unless I'm troubleshooting.

I think that the old design was better looking. I'm guessing they found a cheaper way to make them. Not good to me. The batteries are not joined in one big pack. They are now individually connected. One on the top and one on the bottom. I liked the previous monochrome look of the old screen. The new one has color and tilt. Who cares? Hopefully, this UPS will last as long as the one it replaced, 11 years.

Yeah always find surprises behind a desk lol. I fixed up all my cable management years back and managed to keep everything off the ground. Makes vacuuming easier too.

Yes, I have a number of spools of various cables behind the desk. I'm sure cable management could be better.

It is nice to have the home server back up. It was down for 3 days. Very unusual.

Put a piece of plexyglass or wood below the UPS. Carpet is not ideal.
