Almost a year since my last hair trim, hair is getting longer lol.

I kinda want to keep going now. Still could use a trim to keep the ends healthy though. I have not really kept track with all the reopening steps anymore, but barbers might already be open.

Did my front brakes today. Went a little slower than I thought it would. The drivers side pads looked evenly warn and maybe halfway worn at most. The passenger side pads looked like there was slightly more wear on the inside.

When I was greasing the caliper guide pins, one of the plastic rings at the base of the pin broke off and I had to fish it out of the caliper guide hole. On the passenger side, the same type of pin had trouble moving in and out despite cleaning and greasing. I'm guessing I'm going to have to get new guide pins and clean out the inside of the caliper guide more thoroughly. Also, noted a torn boot on that guide pin.

I got sunburned as the repair took me into early afternoon. That will have to wait until another day. Brakes are working great!

Had difficulty turning my caliper spreader when I got to the passenger side. I grabbed my mechanics gloves and sprayed some lubrication spray while turning the tool until it started turning easier. I guess the grooves of the threads get gunked up over time. I've used this tool for about 20 years.

No cotter pins. That is a cotter pin tool. I use it to gently pull back the boot before I extract the caliper guide pins for maintenance.

Crazy morning at work. Voicemail system down and everyone that knows how it works is on vacation. Managed to call someone in. I did not want to play around with breakers and power buttons on a system I don't know anything about or without even knowing if it's a physical issue.

Trouble still being worked on. Was able to get ahold of the tech who was off today who knows about it. It's a really oddball trouble even for him so glad I was able to get him to work on it.

Got call from lawyer office to setup signing for my property. It's happening Wednesday. :D

My parents know about it now, they seem happy for me this time. I think they realized I really wanted this for myself and are staying positive.

Not like I'm going to be moving there any time soon. Tons of work to do. Since we have ticks here now, I can only really do deep bush related work in fall or winter.

Got called in for OT today, VM system still down so they are 1 tech short for network monitoring and there's outages all over Quebec so going to handle that... or try lol. The new system sucks, we don't see voltages. We need to dial in to each one individually to check.

I'll take all the OT I can get though. Summer is really the only time I get some.

Yeah voice mail lol. And they do have redundancy but there is something wrong with it I guess.

Even a Virtual machine setup can go down fully depending what fails, there's always room for something to go wrong that is beyond HA. Ideally it should not happen but nothing is ideal.
