I'd like to get more into car stuff myself, but not a fan of working outside. It's one of the reasons I want to buy an off grid property, I want to build a big garage to work on projects.

you can't rent garage there?
I would probably buy an old car and fix it up for practice before I do anything on my main one. Eventually I would like to EV convert my truck and redo the entire body. But that is kind of an ambitious goal I would only attempt if the truck breaks down to the point where I need to get a new vehicle.
Easiest is to probably put the battery pack in the bed of the truck, and just have thick plate steel cover over. I would lose about an 18650 height worth of bed space.
At the rate manufacturers are releasing EVs I will probably end up doing it before an official one becomes available on the used market for a reasonable price.

I can pretty much do an oil change your round here outside. I don't think that would work too well where you live.
synthetic 0W40 flows fine in sub zero temp. you may want to run the engine a couple of min to facilitate flow of old oil.
While it's technically possible, I'm referring to how f****** cold it is in the winter. Personally, I wait for good weather to do my work which is most of the time here. I'm just happy it's not so hot has it has been the last couple months. Nothing like a hundred degrees plus with the sun beating down on you.
I sincerely hope you are investing for the future.
Yeah not a fan of working in extremes, whether it's too cold or too hot. That's why a climate controlled shop is a must. Can keep it above zero in winter and keep it below 25C in summer and it's comfortable enough to work in.
While I don't have room for car stuff in my current garage, once I do insulate it I do have lot of smaller projects I want to get into. I wanted to start on insulating that this year but getting my trees cut kind of ate into that budget. Drained my savings account.
you are going to live off grid and have an ACed garage? ahahahaha
Solar/wind. I would have a ridiculous amount of extra power in summer since the system needs to be sized big enough for rest of the year when it's overcast pretty much all the time.
Biggest challenge is the inverter... hard to find inverters that can run big inductive loads. I'm sure they do make DC A/C units but that would be niche and very specialized, so harder to get. There's other ways to cool air off grid though, su ch as using water ponds and evaporative cooling. These are all things I'd have to experiment with.
you are going to put up your own windmill? baller.
I would have room for it, why not. Don't really need to worry about any kind of bylaws either in unorganized townships.
