ADS was something I looked into for awhile. I'm not really clsoe enough to an airport.
Well, Langley AFB landing patterns put heavies over my 'hood.
Otherwise, I ain't close enough. @work the building the darn near a Faraday cage, despite the closeness to PHF not worth the risk.

I get crazy range from mine. I can see planes all the way to Sault St Marie. Pretty crazy actually considering my sub optimal antenna placement. It's in the attic and should idealy be line of sight. I want to play around with APRS one of these days, need to get a ham license if you want to transmit, or feed data though, but I imagine I can still setup a receiver if I wanted to as long as it's not transmitting anything.

Ham license would be fun to get though. Something for my todo list. :p Need to get some basic equipment first to see if it's something I'd even be interested in. Can still listen without license just can't transmit.
