It crossed my mind, to do kinda like a castle draw bridge. But it was just easier to buy a prehung door. I might do something like that for garage door though, a large custom insulated door. Garage doors arn't really efficient. I could make it look like a regular garage door on the outside but have it drop down or swing.

LOL. How could any drop down or swing garage door be efficient? I'm thinking the force and engineering to wield such a large mass would be highly inefficent.

Doors that swing push against a seal when they close. Anything that slides like a garage door and has that many different panels/moving parts is a poor seal.

I replaced the seal on the sides years back, going to replace the bottom one and see. Right now, any time it snows or rains hard it gets in the garage. So going to lose lot of heat there if I don't fix it.

Can't put snowblower in shed if it has standard size door. Should have done french door.

I don't see why not. The ramp is not all that steep and if I really feel it's too hard I can drive it in. I think it weighs like 200ish lbs so more than me. The door threshold might be a tad of a challenge though but won't be any worse than the threshold of the garage man door which I sometimes use if there's too much stuff blocking the garage door.

I'm thinking a different efficiency. Yeah, just fix the door.
